Sir Paul McCartney at Yale Commencement May 2008
On our way to Commencement, we (Janet and I) spot Paul mccartney on his way to accept his Honorary Degree in Music. Unfortunately, I got caught up in the moment and I messed up the video… when Janet says “Tell him to wave” and I say “Hi!” he DOES wave, and I get carried away in the moment and turn off the camera! Congratulations, Paul! We love you!

Fact of the matter is there will be a life after and life before the European Capital of Culture 2008 for Liverpool. Liverpool will take its place next to the previous culture capitals, a formidable list of great European cities. The programme started in 1985 with Athens being the first to gain this great honour, and since then Paris, Florence, Prague, Lisbon and Madrid have followed suit.

Paul mccartney – “Hey Jude” (Live in Kiev 14.06.2008) ——————————— The former Beatle played to an audience of 350000 in the capital Kiev’s main square on June 14 2008. Thunder and lightning filled the skies yet the true electricity came from the stage as Sir Paul mccartney gave his first ever concert in Kiev. A record 350000 braved the inclement weather to see the musician. The charity concert, in the former Soviet republic’s Independence Square, was the Ukraine’s biggest ever. The gig was simultaneously broadcast on giant screens in six other Ukrainian cities and on television, with an estimated 10 million people watching. Organisers of the charity event said money raised will be spent on equipment to help children with cancer.
