Steve Perillo?S Journey Into The Musical World

Perillo Tours is a travel company, which organizes quality tours and adventurous vacations to Italy, Hawaii, and Israel. This successful family business that began in 1945 has been running for three generations. Steve Perillo, the current head of the reputable Perillo Tours is a popular musician as well.

As a child, Perillo was deeply impressed by American music of the 40s and 50s, as that was what his parents listened to. It ignited his passion for music. Today, even though he listens to diverse genres of music, he still nurtures a soft spot for early American music.

Steve Perillo has vivid memories of his childhood; watching the famous Beatles on Ed Sullivan’s TV show, strumming away on guitars with girls screaming around them! The very next week after watching his first Beatle video, he bought a folk guitar and began guitar lessons! He later became interested in classical music and this kindled his interest in playing the piano.

In school, Steve did not get many opportunities to play his compositions and anyway, he was too shy to do so! This was the time when he first listened to music of the legendary Bach. His sister had brought home the album ‘Switched on Bach’. From then on, Perillo became an ardent fan of Bach’s music!

Perillo was fortunate to be a student of ace American composer, David Del Tredici, in Boston University. Under the constructive guidance of Del Tredici, Perillo’s musical talent was honed and polished. After graduating, he worked on music soundtracks for a few years. At one point, he finally decided to turn his attention to his family business – Perillo Tours. He was always very enthusiastic about travel and tourism, plus the family business needed him. Steve believes that music suited him as a passion and not a full-time profession.

From orchestral pieces and concert music to chamber music and pop, Steve Perillo’s music is a mélange of different styles and genres. He has released several of his compositions, which have become commercial successes. Requiem for a Goldfish, Perillo’s Magnificat and other Choral Masterpieces, and Napoli are some of his popular soundtracks. Steve, the musician, is definitely here to stay!
